To borrow a bike, you must first become a member of the Gargunnock Bike Project (GBP). This annual membership will allow you, or anyone in your household to borrow any of the bikes in the library for 4 weeks at a time, subject to availability. Our preference is that you borrow the bike for the full 4 weeks. Shorter periods are subject to availability of bikes and a volunteer to facilitate the handover.
To check availability, and arrange to borrow a bike or go on the waiting list please contact:
The annual GBP membership runs from 1 April to 31 March each year. As we are part way through that period, a reduced membership cost until 31 March 2026 will be:
It is anticipated that a full year’s membership starting from April 2026 will be £25 per person, or £50 per household, although this may change in subsequent years.
The full value of each GBP membership will be put towards the maintenance of the bikes, and insurance costs for them. This is a key part of our fundraising to sustain the bike library.
As long as you know how to ride a bike, the e-bikes are very easy to use.
When you borrow an e-bike for the first time, you will be given an induction on how to use the battery assist function, how to charge the batter and any other information you ned to know. The induction for the cargo bike will take a bit longer than a regular e-bike.
The induction will not be required for any subsequent borrows of the same type of e-bike.
All bike borrows will require some basic paperwork to be filled in when the bike is checked out, and when it is checked back in. This paperwork will be stored in a secure and confidential manner in line with GDPR guidelines.
